Hey it’s Kari, and I have been waiting to blog about this for weeks.

(You have no idea how hard it was for me to keep this quiet)

A couple months ago AMC TV contacted us to borrow our studio space and send in their photographer to take the promo shots for their first reality show…Crazy, right!!! What we were unaware of was the talent that was going to be showing up for this endeavor. Besides the 20 + camera crew, make-up artists, wardrobe, producers and sound engineers that we squeezed into the studio, there were the stars. We were honored to meet the entire cast of AMC’s first reality show Comic Book Men: starring the staff of our local (and my favorite) comic book shop, Jay and Silent Bobs Secret Stash (Ming Chen, Mike Zapcic, Walt Flanagan, and Bryan Johnson).  What we didn’t know was that we were going to be in the presence of the Man himself, Kevin Smith!  We are all huge fans of Kevin Smith’s work at our office, from his movies (Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, etc.), to his comic books (Batman: Cacophony, The Green Arrow: Sounds of Violence, Batman: The Widening Gyre, etc.) so when he showed up at the office (with Jay Mewes) I almost died…of excitement!

While at the office, during all of this chaos, we got the chance to hang out with the Kevin, Jay, and the rest of the group.  They are one of the most fun and down-to-earth groups of people we had ever met.  Kevin even took the time to take some photos with us and sign one of his many comic books that I have collected.  The added bonus was that we were witness to one of the most elaborate photo shoot set-ups that I have ever seen.  What a day!!!

A few weeks before this all happened Chris, Suzanne, and I had the pleasure of filming with the staff of the Secret Stash for their Zombie Photo Shoot.  We photographed (while being filmed) the Comic Book Men in full zombie make-up for an episode of the show.  Even prior to this, I, Kari the Photo Editor, had my own day of shooting for the show because of my knowledge of Zombie Survival, and my sick obsession with comic books. I still cannot believe that any of this even happened. Pinch me!

Comic Book Men Premieres February 12^th on AMC after The Walking Dead…show your support for the show…and keep an eye out for your friends at CLB that might be making an appearance or two.
